yeeeeeeeeah i am really fucking sore and tired but i cant sleep because there is a big pile of books in my room (im cleaning it out and i couldnt find any boxes.. but it was fun throwing books on the floor) and im just laying there listening to the Used and twitching everytime i see my floor....

im not a neat freak but its really bothering me because i cant get to my closet or my bookshelf.

anyways regans party was fucking kick ass except for the part where sarah took me down... actually no that was fun. heh watching illegal fireworks peoples... DaNcE DaNcE ReVoLuTiOnlol i suck at that... aPPles to aPPles.. sparklers.. chocolate ice cream with coffe in it.. wandering aimlessly with regans lil bro.. heh... um more detail laters? but y'all know what happened... i think... w/e.

yeah i have a new years resolution but i dont think i will live up to it... its more like a "hey its january lets be good" resolution.

argh i cant sleep..... its really pissing me off. i have had a grand total of ONE HOUR AND 30 MINUTES OF SLEEP in the past day. seriously! im going to like, die! i mean i crash after 3 ish...

i need chocolate. damnit.

The year's best musicians redefined themselves

That is the exact moment that I settled on my favorites albums of 2004. It's important to note because, as a guy who spends a majority of his waking hours listening to new tunes, it's hard to stick with a "best of" list that feels definitive.

Instead of asking what my favorite albums of 2004 are the more accurate question should be "What are my favorite albums of 2004 at this moment?"

The list below represents artists that did something to either redefine their own music or the genre in which they play in. These albums kept finding their way into my car, home and work all year.

1. American Idiot, Green Day — Finally a punk band that figured out that continued success lies not in altering the rebellious sound that made them famous, but by making that sound better with clever lyrics and polished musicianship. Songs like American Idiot and Wake Me Up When September Ends are carved from the same hook-frenzied wood as older hits, but they're packed with critiques of hypocrisy in our society. Cheers to Green Day for growing up punk with grace.
